Measured drawing of old buildings involve documentation work of the building’s physical conditions, as well as its history in relation to the site. The documented work provides opportunities in gaining holistic understanding of the site contexts, its community and architectural development in response to the socio-cultural changes of the society.
This sharing session showcases 2 measured drawing projects completed by students from the School of Architecture, Building & Design of Taylor’s University. The documented buildings- No.3, Jalan Stesen 1 (Sykt. Wah Sang Brothers) and No.28, Jalan Stesen 1 (Seraph Awaken), display distinctive attributes in terms of architectural features, styles and space utilization. Students will be presenting the building’s historical research findings, as well as experiences in the measuring work, complemented by architectural drawings, photographs and a scale model for each buildings measured.
